Comments about The Little Tikes Company Little Tikes Little Tikes® First Slide:

I ignored the poor reviews because I remembered the well made red slide my neice had used as a child. This slide is so flimsy that my 13 month old daughter who is 20 pounds causes the slide to tip backwards and lift off of the ground when she climbs the ladder. This is very unsafe.

Comments about The Little Tikes Company Little Tikes Little Tikes® First Slide:

Purchased for granddaughter who weighs just under 25 pounds. When she climbs up the steps bottom of slide begins to raise off of the ground. Since slide claims to be for chiĺdren up to 60 pounds don't see how she will get any long term use. Requires an adult to stand bt the slide so that it won't tip. Certainly not independent play as we had hoped.

My older boys had the original slide that was a more efficient durable design. This slide can tip or crack easily.

They used to be made better. I was so disappointed when they took it out of the box. If I would have seen it when I ordered it, I definitely wouldn't have wasted the money. Like other companies, the quality goes down and the price goes up. So disappointed!

Handles need long tab set in before pushing in short tab

Comments about The Little Tikes Company Little Tikes Little Tikes® First Slide:

This was a gift my husband and I gave to ourselves to have for the grands when they came to visit. Our four-year old grandkids loved it. An adult sat along side because they played by sliding, jumping off the slide and generally having a wild time as they took turns. The 18 mo old was lifted onto and assisted down and thought she has quite the big girl wanting her turn with the others. But here's the reason I wrote: my daughter stated when she saw the Little Tikes slide that she had almost ordered the same one but didn't because of a review stating the handles didn't snap in securely. Well, when our slide was hastily assembled so the older kids could romp only one of our handles seemed to snap in securely. I had already pointed this out to my husband and we were planning to drill and add a screw to fix the problem when he studied the situation and snapped the second handle in and it has held ever since. So the slide handles are not a problem. Follow the directions, one side of the handles needs to be put in its slot before the other side snaps in; have an adult stay with the slide if your kids go crazy-happy like our four-yr olds* and enjoy the slide. *The slide never tipped but it did scoot a lot when the four-yr olds were jumping.
