A Note of Confidence from Little Tikes and MGA

In light of the recent Toy Recall issues over the past weeks, Little Tikes is confident that the testing protocols we have and have had in place throughout our organization supports our commitment to ensure that only high quality, safe products, meeting all legal requirements are released to retail for purchase. Little Tikes utilizes reputable third party testing laboratories to ensure that proper checks and balances are in place, and test reports are carefully reviewed by trained and highly qualified professionals.

Although applicable Little Tikes products have tested safe for lead and other heavy metals, Little Tikes is re-testing many of its products since the toy recalls were first announced several weeks ago to verify. Absolutely NO safety issues whatsoever have been brought to our attention by any of the testers and/or labs.

Understanding the importance of our consumer’s health and welfare, we have asked our suppliers and the independent labs to support our efforts. We strive for Little Tikes products to exceed all legally required safety standards, wherever and whenever possible, so that consumers can continue to feel good about and respond positively to our products.

Little Tikes wants to clearly communicate the country of origin of our products to our consumers. We understand that you want to make informed purchasing decisions. We are proud to say that over 70% of Little Tikes products are made in the U.S.A. at our Ohio facility, and all Little Tikes products are subject to rigorous testing standards at each stage of production, which meet and often exceed Federal guidelines.

To help you understand our labeling, which we use on our retail packaging and on our website, we have put together the product label key below.

  • "Made in U.S.A." will appear on all toys that are made and assembled in the U.S. and satisfy Federal Trade Commission requirements that "virtually all" of the product and its parts are U.S. made. Pursuant to the Federal Trade Commission guidelines, some Little Tikes products that are labeled as "Made in U.S.A. " may include imported parts that are not integral to the play of the toy and are of a minimal value compared to the remainder of the product. If a Little Tikes product includes separate foreign-sourced accessory components these will be identified for consumers on the website and packaging.
  • "Made in U.S.A. with US and Imported Parts" will appear on toys substantially made and assembled in the U.S. with mostly U.S.-made components and some imported parts.
  • No country of origin legend will appear in those toys made outside USA but which still undergo rigorous quality and safety testing by independent third-party laboratories and adhere to the same high-quality standards that we apply to all Little Tikes products.

We certify that toys manufactured by Little Tikes meet the following standards as applicable in the countries to which our toys are shipped:

  • Toys distributed in the USA meet or exceed ASTM F963: “Standard Consumer Specification on Toy Safety”
  • Toys distributed outside the USA meet or exceed international toy safety standard “EN-71 Safety of Toys. When you purchase one of our products, you can be confident it has been tested beyond industry standards and has met all federal requirements.
