After reading all the reviews....It was exactly what I expected. Took a bit of time to assemble. Be careful putting on the front wheels, but the pictures were self-explanatory. The hardest part were the 2 screws in the back that hold the top down. Had to re-do 2 or 3 times, eventually got it right. Very happy with purchase. [...]

We bought the original version of this car when our kids were little and they loved it. We thought we would get it for our grandson who is two, so he could enjoy it as much as our kids did. We sent it to him for Christmas and his mother said he loves it. He's a bit short to move around too much but he will grow into it. He loves to sit and watch t.v. in it. My husband said he's at the drive in :) You can't go wrong with this product, the kids love it!!

I bought this for my 15 month old for christmas. We didn't wrap it just parked it in front of the tree he went straight to it and climbed in side and just sat there with the biggest smile on his face. He loves this car and his older brother loves to push him around in it. we usually keep the floor board in because of his size one day i heard him screaming and found him stuck in the car one leg and his head where under the front tires and the other was out the door his brother had removed the floor board. he also doesn't alway like to use the door climbs thru the windows if the wheels are not in the right spot the car will tip over when he does this. I think the safety issues I am having would not happed if the car was larger like it used to be. All in all this is a great toy my kids love it. the age recomendation is 1 1/2 to 5. my 15 month old is small i should have waited for him to get a bit bigger. however there is no way my 5 year old would fit in this car. my friends have an older model he fits no problem in that.

This is my 18 month grandson's favoite Christmas gift! He quickly learned how to open the door and move around. He is using it indoors, and it easily moves around the house without causing any damage. It had a great many parts that took time to put together, but it certainly has been worth the effort.

Comments about Little Tikes Cozy Coupe® 30th Anniversary Edition:

I wasn't in love with this product, but my niece was.

The plastic of some of the pieces was not well molded, leading to difficulty fitting the parts together. I also didn't realize that the steering wheel is not functional or that the front wheels are akward caster wheels without bearings, making it difficult for my niece to maneuver the car.

However, none of that seemed to matter to my niece. Not long after she opened her gift (assembled) she exclaimed, "I love my car!". She also seemed to have a lot of fun scooting around her grandparent's house in it.

I would have been happier giving her a classic pedal car as I did with her older sister, but she liked this a lot, which is what I guess counts most.

I assembled this toy twice, once at the grand parents house on xmas day and again once we got it home. Yea it was a bit time consuming, but the kid just loves it, really loves it and let me tell you I'm amazed a blow molded plastic toy that retails for under 50 bucks goes together this easily. This was a dream compared to other plastic toy disasters I've witnessed. Plus this toy is really tough, we got this one after seeing the same toy at the pre-school and how theirs have stood up to years of rough play plus the elements.

other than that it was easy to get together. Baby and me have a great time.

This was a Christmas gift to my son from his grandparents. It has taken my husband and I TWO days to put this car together. We looked at the written instructions, and the video instructions. Things went pretty smoothly until we got to the part where you had to put the 2 front pillar post in the frame. We tried EVERYTHING....from using a knife to whittle away the extra plastic, trying to hammer the post in, using cooking spray to grease the post hoping it wouild go in easier, to finally softening the plastic with a hair dryer. Save yourself some steps and go straight to the hairdryer. Now that it's put together my son LOVES it!

I saw this product in the store and brought it because the other gift I wanted to get for my son for Christmas was sold out. I've brought Little Tikes products for all my children through the years, have assembled them myself (hubby doesn't like to use directions) and have always been pleased with the product. My goodness I ran into a challenge with this toy. The directions are a joke. I kept having to stop assembling every couple of steps to figure out what was supposed to go where. After I was finish assembling but still having trouble with the rear pillars of the car I decided to get online for some help. Low and behold I discovered the online video. Even after that still have not completely screwed the screws into the rear pillars because my screw driver isn't small enough. DVD's of the assembly should come with every cozy coupe! Or it should be posted on the front of the instruction sheet in big bold letters that you can go online to view an instructional video to spare parents the agony of an all day assembly.

Upon arriving home and hearing my husband spouting some 4 letter words, I saw the car parts in the middle of the floor. He could not get the front posts to snap into place, had hurt his neck and shoulder and said he was DONE. After nearly breaking my hands, I decided to call the 800 number listed on the instructions. The girl advised me to use some dishwashing liquid and a hairdryer to soften the plastic. I also watched the video. After putting these suggestions to use, and 5 minutes later, I had the 2 front posts snapped into place. My husband is still grumbling, but the dirty words have ceased. It is getting closer to being fully assembled-----and it is only Dec. 23.

Great toy but terrible instructions. [...] we only stumbled upon the video by accident. For such a popular item, and with as many comments about the difficult assembly, you would think Little Tikes would take steps to improve this problem. As I toy - highly recommend, but for ease of assembly, other brands and styles are better and readily available.

I watched teh video first and then would watch it, pause it, put together pieces, etc. It still took about 1.5 hour to put it together the first one, and 45 minures for the second one, but it wasn't as bad as I had imagined it.
And my kids love their new cozy coupes!

Comments about Little Tikes Cozy Coupe® 30th Anniversary Edition:

My husband & I purchased this item for our 22 month old grandson as an early b-day gift. Our daughter can't get him out of the neighbor's little car. We figured we give it to him now while it's not bitter cold out yet to play outside. His birthday is 12/30. Had we known what assembly was like, we would NOT have made the purchase. I have put together more toys over the years than I care to recall, but I have NEVER encountered a toy that was this much of a nightmare assembly. The instructions were worthless. Steps 5 & 6 were out of sequence, most of the pictures were unclear as to what exactly you were supposed to do, there was a misprint in identifying a part in step 4, most of the pieces did fit properly & had to be forced - especially the front pillar posts for the roof. The rear axle had to filed on the one end as it was too large & would not go trough ANY of the wheels. These are just SOME of the problems we had. It took over 4 hours & I am very adept at putting things together & fixing machines. We had to take the front wheels apart 3 times to get them right. Still not sure They are right, they don't seem to roll smoothly. Hopefully, they'll do better outside. By the time we got it together, the little guy was in bed!! Then I start reading reviews on line & see something about a video?? There is NOTHING in the directions about a video on line if you need futher help. I have never been so frustrated with a product in all my years. For all this work, it had better last!

All in all, a good purchase but assembly was a pain.

My 2 1/2 year old girl absolutely loves this car. Our neighbor girl has one so we had to get one for our girl. The directions for assembly are not difficult to decipher; however, some parts are impossible to put together, esp. the front pillars and popping the roof on. The back screws were also difficult to put in. The latch for the door is a useless feature. Overall though, I'm very happy with this purchase.

Great toy. Have bought one for each grandchild.
But.......save yourself total aggravation and pay to have it assembled. It's just about impossible! It's well worth the $10....or even $50....for assembly. That's how bad it is!
Also, a few changes to the Anniversary model are kind of a step backwards. The eyes are foolish, the latch on the door is awful. I really don't think a child will be able to open or close it.
They were unnecessary, unwanted changes. "Why fix it if it ain't broke!"

MY SON LOVED PLAYING WITH A SIMILAR MODEL OF THIS TOY THAT MY FRIEND HAS SO I DECIDED TO BUY HIM HIS OWN. I'VE ASSEMBLED NUMEROUS ITEMS INCLUDING FURNITURE WHICH IS USUALLY MORE COMPLICATED THAN PUTTING TOYS TOGETHER. AND THIS THING WAS ALMOST IMPOSSIBLE TO PUT TOGETHER, SOME PARTS WERE NOT HARD BUT AS FAR AS GETTING THE SCREWS IN, NOT EASY AT ALL, THE ANGLE AND LOCATION FOR THE HUGE SCREWS MADE IT VERY DIFFICULT AND THE PLASTIC DIDN'T HAVE EASY TO PUNCTURE LOCATIONS FOR THE DARN THING TO GO IN. I DOUBT ANY INSTRUCTIONAL VIDEO WILL MAKE A DIFFERENCE AS LITTLE TIKES RECOMMENDS TO ALL WHO PUT DOWN THE ASSEMBLY OF THIS TOY. OTHER THAN THAT I CAN'T COMPLAIN MY SON KEPT TRYING TO GET ON THE ENTIRE TIME I WAS PUTTING IT TOGETHER. HE LOVES THIS DARN CAR.

Our daughter loves this product, but it is almost impossible to assemble. The instruction picture booklet is okay, but it would be nice to have some text along with the pictures. The most difficult part to assemble was the front posts - you need herculian strength to push the posts in. In the end, it took full sized adults to hammer the front yellow posts into the car. It was also difficult to screw the four long screws into the back of the car. Assembly took over two hours. This is our first Little Tikes product - but we will avoid future products unless they are better designed for assembly. Hopefully the company will read these reviews and consider a redesign.

My 1 year old daughter loves this car. She will sit in it and play. The only thing that bothered me was that when we initially bought it, I cleaned it with a wet cloth and I noticed the yellow coming off the car itself and was all over my hands and paper-towel. I wiped it clean a couple more times and the yellow was still coming off but less noticeable with the last cleaning. Besides this, I like it since my baby loves it.

This is a great toy for the little ones once you're able to assemble it. The instructions only had pictures which were difficult to decipher exactly what they wanted you to do in each step. Alot of the plastics parts did not fit easily with one another, for example the two front posts were extremely difficult to pop into place. Once assembled though, its a great toy that will provides hours of enjoyment for your little one. My daughter loves it, granted she wasn't the one that assembled it.

This toy is amazing my son loves it.. it is a fun cute car. Love the 30th anniversary edition. So much cuter then all the other models!!! I read alot of reviews stating it was hard to assemble. Well my husband had no problem setting it up. with out a power drill as i have read some people have used. It was very unneeded. Took about a half an hour tops and it was set up perfectly. My son is going to get alot of use out of his "cozy coupe" Thank you little tykes!!!

Comments about Little Tikes Cozy Coupe® 30th Anniversary Edition:

The instructions were extremely unclear to follow, as they had no text, just illustrations. Also, the front roof supports were a major pain to click into the body. In fact, we had to use a blowdryer (idea courtesy of Yahoo!Answers) to soften the plastic, and after that, we struggled some more & got them in. The red cap pieces were also very difficult to hammer in. Other than assembly, the toy is great and the kids love it. But for a while, they had to ride around 'convertible style'.

No holes to put in screws (can go through plastic but you need a lot of strength!) and the instrctions are not clear. It's a great toy but be prepared tospend time putting it together.

Comments about Little Tikes Cozy Coupe® 30th Anniversary Edition:

This coupe is a hit with my 2-year old granddaughter! After seeing the fun she had on her cousin's older version, Poppi and I just had to purchase one for her very own. She gasses it up, goes through the motions of buckling up for safety (might somehow rig up a "seat-belt"), turns the key and go-go-goes! (Poppi fashioned a "gas pump" out of a cheap plastic garden hand-sprayer and a cord). This coupe provides hours of imaginative play!

Assembly took a bit of muscle (Poppi's dept.), but I figure if it takes force to assemble, it's less likely to fall apart with any regular bumps and bangs (FWIW, an awl is great for making pilot holes for the needed screws). Directions were clearly illustrated, so no problem figuring out what went where.

Only con is that the wheels are a bit stiff but I imagine they will roll easier with a bit more "road time".

Great product. Great fun!

Comments about Little Tikes Cozy Coupe® 30th Anniversary Edition:

Only the first one is difficult to put together. After making and correcting mistakes resulting from poor drawings and going too fast because I am mechanically handy, I got it together in an hour. Most mistakes can be redone easily. The ones to watch out for are as follows:

1) Be sure to insert both upper and lower front plastic axle bushings "F" in car body before inserting axles "R". I left out the lower bushings and had to cut off the retainer caps "D" with tin snips to get the front axles off and put the bushings in. Luckily, there were two extra retainer caps in the package.

2) If these same axle retainer caps are driven on too far, it will cause the axles and wheels to bind a bit as mentioned in another review. Of course, spend enough time making sure that the front axles are inserted on the correct side and the four bushings are inserted before setting the retainer caps. The caps do not come off without destroying them.

3) Another mistake I made was to put aside the directions that were not in English. I guess that I am conditioned to expect duplicate directions in other languages. Late in the game I discovered that the missing diagrams I was looking for were on those pages of foreign languages.

Maybe with this heads up, things will go better for you that they would have otherwise, but you will still have difficulty if this is your first assembly or are not mechanically inclined.

Comments about Little Tikes Cozy Coupe® 30th Anniversary Edition:

Our 16 month old son likes his new ride so we're happy. I love the removable floor board and safety lock on the door. That way we can push him around without having to worry about him scraping his feet on the ground or opening the door en route! The drink holder in the back is also a nice feature. However, the "handle" on the top of the car isn't much of a handle but it'll work. I just bought this today so I can't write any thing about the durability. The worst thing about this product is it was AWFUL to put together! My poor husband spent at least 2 hours in the living room working on it. The directions aren't clear, parts don't fit well, and there aren't any holes where the screws go. *POWER DRILL A MUST*
Still yet, I'm sure our little man will get a lot of enjoyment out of it this Summer!

Comments about Little Tikes Cozy Coupe® 30th Anniversary Edition:

it is difficult to assemble as the instructions are mostly drawings and not actual written instructions, holes for screws are only sunk-in and have no actual holes which make it very difficult to insert and to get it in the right place. It took almost 2 hours to finish assembly. After assembly it was great, front wheels turn 360 but not very smoothly. My son does like it very much. Loves to push it around as well...Parent handle is only an openning not an actual handle as stated in item description.

I was going to buy a product that looks like this but is filled with those fun balls. Then I realized that my daughter would be upset that it doesn't move so I got this one instead. She calls it her "Car Cart" like the supermarket ones. I got a blister putting it together and it took me over an hour (I'm about 120 pounds)with her crawling in and out of it the whole time. That being said, it was TOTALLY woth it. I put her own vanity plate on the back. She loves it!!! In the house watching TV and driving around the block.
