Just Another Morning   (2/15/2013 12:00:00 AM)
Just when I thought that I had everything figured out, I became a parent. Yes, life has always had its challenges, its ups and downs, but nothing could have prepared me for the regular chaos that ensues in my house.

Food Guise   (1/31/2013 12:00:00 AM)
As a little incentive to do well in school, we allow Milo to purchase a school lunch once a week. Still considered by him to be one of the highlights of his week, I look forward to hearing about what he has ordered. Today, Milo said, “I had a garden burger, but couldn’t finish it because it looked like there was egg in it.”

The Kiss   (1/25/2013 12:00:00 AM)
Listening to my children tell me about their day is one of my favorite things to do. Whether they have invented the story or are telling me about something that has actually happened, I appreciate how animated they become once they know that they have my full attention.

Self Imposed Competition   (1/18/2013 12:00:00 AM)
As moms, we tend to be our hardest critics. We often impose unrealistic expectations on ourselves as well as our children. Whether it’s because we genuinely want the best for our children or for our children to be the best, I’m not quite sure. Perhaps it’s a bit of both.

Boys Vs Girls   (1/10/2013 12:00:00 AM)
Is Mother Goose right? Are boys made of snips and snails and puppy dogs tails and girls from sugar and spice and all things nice? As a mother of both, I agree with the nursery rhyme as well as the stereotypical differences between boys and girls.

Blending In   (1/4/2013 12:00:00 AM)
A growing trend in society, blended families vary considerably. Despite the variation in parental approach and involvement, the well-being of the child is most often a mutual goal. Sometimes it’s the means to achieving that goal that proves problematic. After all, you are not only welcoming a child into your marriage, but also his or her parent or at least their influence.

Letting Go   (12/27/2012 12:00:00 AM)
Letting go has never been easy for me. After delivering Milo, I remember my unease when the nurse informed me of her intention to take him to the nursery for a standard screening procedure. The minutes seemed like hours. When the nurse finally returned, I knew that I wasn’t ready to be away from him again. Milo remained in my room for the rest of our hospital stay.

Holiday Magic   (12/21/2012 12:00:00 AM)
There is something magical about the holiday season. When I think back to my childhood, I remember drinking hot cocoa, baking cookies, singing songs, decorating the house and cutting down our Christmas tree.

My Mom Works For Santa Clause   (12/19/2012 12:00:00 AM)
My heart broke the first time I heard Milo say, “Mommy, I think you should go back to work.” Actually, I asked him to repeat himself because surely I was mistaken. He repeated himself. No, I had heard him correctly.

Santa Texts   (12/14/2012 12:00:00 AM)
In the age of technology, children are growing up faster than ever! At ages 4 & 6, both boys can probably operate my smart phone better than I can. Although technology may change, phases that children experience are still traditionally the same.

My Running Partner   (12/7/2012 12:00:00 AM)
I may be slightly biased, but I think that I have the worlds best running partner. Just shy of 26 lbs and exactly 3 ft tall, Hadleigh continues to be the only motivation that I need to get myself running several days a week.

Individually Unique, Together Complete   (11/28/2012 12:00:00 AM)
If someone had asked me as a young adult where I’d be in 10 years, I would never have imagined that I’d be responsible for 4 children by the time I was 30. As you know, life forever changes when you welcome a child into both your home and more importantly your heart.

The Role of Being a Mommy   (11/16/2012 12:00:00 AM)
As I mentioned in my previous blog post, I left Corporate America approximately 6 years ago to spend time as a SAHM (Stay At Home Mom). En lieu of preparing for sales and strategy meetings, I have been tasked with my self-imposed quest to become the quintessential mom. Whether you work or stay at home full-time, you will most probably agree that being a mommy is one of most difficult roles you’ve experienced....

About Me: A Mom Blogger’s Bio   (11/8/2012 12:00:00 AM)
“We will never be ready to have a baby – we will never have a big enough house, a safe enough car or enough money in our account…but having a baby is a blessing and we will find a way to make it work.” Surprisingly, my husband’s words gave me great comfort when we learned that I was pregnant six years ago. Since then, he has repeated them to me during two subsequent pregnancies. He was right. As a parent, we always want the best for our children and therefore, we are always striving to be better, to do more & to give as much of ourselves as we can....
