“We will never be ready to have a baby – we will never have a big enough house, a safe enough car or enough money in our account…but having a baby is a blessing and we will find a way to make it work.” Surprisingly, my husband’s words gave me great comfort when we learned that I was pregnant six years ago. Since then, he has repeated them to me during two subsequent pregnancies. He was right. As a parent, we always want the best for our children and therefore, we are always striving to be better, to do more & to give as much of ourselves as we can.
After learning of my first pregnancy six years ago, I traded in my high heel shoes & designer purses for dirty diapers, runny noses and four words that would mean more to me than anything I could have ever imagined - “I love you Mommy.”
Despite only giving birth to three children, I am a mother of four. I have a nine year old stepdaughter (Alyna), a five year old son (Milo), a four year old son (Liam) and a 2 year old daughter (Hadleigh). After pursuing my career for nearly a decade, I chose to leave my 40+ hour a week position in Corporate America to spend time as a SAHM (Stay At Home Mom). As some of you may know, this decision was not made lightly or without sacrifice.
Over the next few months, I hope to share some of my experiences as a mom – the good, the bad & most definitely, the ugly:) Although we may have a plethora of differences as women, I can guarantee that we have at least one thing in common – our unconditional love for our children.
Why am I writing a blog for Little Tikes? Prior to embarking on my journey as a SAHM, I worked for Little Tikes for several years. Never before had I felt so welcomed by a company - my coworkers became my friends within hours. Along with a fabulous product line, Little Tikes is staffed with extremely talented men and women who are passionate about creating toys that our children love. As a child, I remember driving around my Cozy Coupe…and I’m happy to say that my children have enjoyed their Cozy Coupe just as much as I did. Again, I hope that you find value in my blog…if only just a smile to help brighten your day:)
