This basketball hoop is so much fun for my whole family. We bought it for our 3-year-old daughter to help channel her always-on-the-go high energy into an organized physical activity. The most wonderful thing I find is that it gives all of us (toddler, Mom and Dad) a chance to play spontaneously together in our own home property. Our toddler just has a blast shooting basketballs and chasing them as they rebound across the ground. It is wonderful to watch her coordination improve, literally by the minute. It is great fun!In terms of assembly, setup is fairly straight-forward right out of the box. The plastic pieces fit together easily and require no special tools. The basketball netting attaches easily to the hoop. The assembly directions are printed clearly on the outside of the box, and they are easy to understand. The hollow lightweight plastic base arrives empty, however; so while the basketball hoop is functional, it is not stable. The hoop topples over easily and this poses the risk of injury to a small child in my opinion. As stated in the product description, the basketball hoop has the capacity to be filled with and anchored by 40 lbs. of sand. Ultimately, we needed to purchase sand at our local hardware store (because it is not included in Little Tykes transaction). The only drawback is it takes additional time and energy to find sand, buy it, and haul it back home. It takes two adults working as a team to slowly funnel the sand into the base. (My only suggestion to improve upon this is for Little Tykes to offer the option of purchasing sand through its website, so the two products could be delivered to customers' doorsteps simultaneously.) This is still a minor hassle compared to all the great fun of playing basketball. It is worth the time and energy investment. This basketball hoop truly is fun for the whole family.

Also box came with labels all over so the directions for putting net on hoop was unable to be read so made it difficult! but hoping its a great toy after all this extra work!

Great basketball hoop for toddlers, except the net is constantly coming off just from the ball going through the basket. It gets annoying where we may have to knot or tape it. Other than that, our 1 1/2 year old boy loves it.

My girls (3 & 2)love playing Basketball! It's a little hard to adjust the height, but once I figured out how to adjust it, it isn't a problem. The Basketball is great! And they have a great time taking turns shooting and trying to dribble. :)

This was purchased as a Christmas gift for my 27 month old son, but, because it is so sturdy and has height adjustments, my twin 4 year old daughters love it too! All three kids love playing together, which is not the norm. The unit is large enough so that they don't have to crowd each other - there is plenty of room. I would recommend that you purchase the additional balls, as the set only comes with one, which can cause issues with groups of kids.Overall, a great purchase. It gets the kids moving and excited about sports in an age appropriate way. And, sometimes, even mom gets to play!

we bought this as a gift for our 18 month old grandson.. but his cousins 2 girls got to it first ( 5 and 2) and LOVE it so that we see we might have to buy another.There were no assembly directions in the box ( were they missing?)and the box instructions were difficult to understand... but now that it is "up and running" we are all happy
