This was purchased for my baby handyman's 1st birthday. He loves hammering the nails while our 3 year old daughter loves taking it apart and adding the accessories over-and-over again. Both kids are fascinated by the shop light, definitely the coolest accessory. They use the tools to check all the screws, knobs and hinges in our home. It is a great learning toy if you want to teach your children about tools and building.
We looked at many building toys and handyman workshops and choose this one because of the durability we've experienced with Little Tikes products. My kids are tough on toys and this toy takes a beating! Plus there are a lot of accessories you can purchase to go with the workshop. My husband is very handy with tools, he put the workshop together in 10 minutes.
It does have a few Cons: This workbench has fallen over several times. My daughter likes to climb and the workbench tips easily whenever she climbs up on it. It also tips over when bumped; it's bonked my kids a couple times while falling over. Mounting the workshop on a circular base would have made it less tippy. Also I can see the nails and screws getting lost or chewed up. Including an extra set with the instructions would have been thoughtful.
For your kids to get the ultimate enjoyment out of this toy, you will have to take the time to show them how it works and what everything does. Overall we are very pleased with our purchase and would recommend it.

We bought this for our 2 yr old grandson for Christmas. We wanted it already put together so when he opens it he can play with it. When we went to put it together there were NO instructions. That was very frustrating when we had screws and didn't know what they went to. Part of it was already put together and we just had to go by the picture on the box for the rest. Never did see where there was a spot for screws. Wished there was something on the workbench itself to interact with. He hasn't opened it yet but we think he will really enjoy it. We chose Little Tykes because of the durability of there products. All and all think was a good purchase just wished it had more things to work with.

    We got this for our 15 month old son and he loves it! He has fun hitting the hammer on the work bench, playing with the wrench and taking out all of the screws and pieces. The parts are large and don't seem to be a choking hazard. He also loves making the lantern light up. It's a great toy for little walkers!

            We bought this for our 16month old son as a Christmas gift. He really enjoys playing with the work bench and so does our 3 1/2 year old! It is a bit small, so if you want something that will grow with your child this may not be what you are looking for. It's a good buy for the money :) We did buy a seperate set of tools to go with the work bench so there was enough things that both kids had plenty to play with at the same time.
