While I say this was easy to assemble, I have to admit that my dad put it together and it did take him a day and a half, about 6 hours total. So definitely easier than wood, but still a chore. That said I did not want wood and love the look of this set. It has all the features of a big wooden set without taking up too much of the yard. I was hesitant to buy this at first because my son is 7 and I thought it might be too babyish for him. But it's not. He has a lot of fun on it and it is plenty sturdy so I think he'll enjoy it for several more years to come. My son is happiest on the swing and glider so this set is perfect for him. However, if you have older kids that are more interested in the fort and slide, than this might not be the set for them which is why I only gave 4 stars. I have an infant too, so it's perfect for us because she can grow into it. But for older kids, it'd be nice if the fort and slide were about 1 foot higher. That being said, everything else is great. And someone noted that the sandbox lid doesn't have handles, which it doesn't, but I don't find that to be a big deal as the lid is really light and easy to move, and it really does keep the rain out of that area. I definitely recommend.

We have just put it together and started to have fun with it, but I'm very disappointed that Little Tikes still hasn't fixed the "wrong size bolt" problem that I read about in several reviews prior to buying the set. We were able to go and get a longer bolt at the hardware store (we didn't want to wait for Little Tikes to send a replacement), but this is really something that they should have fixed by now.

Nice set, but plastic base is too flimsy. Exact replacement parts are not always available. I drove over the side of the base with the lawn mower and sliced a piece of plastic off. I called Little Tikes to see if we could buy a new base or a plastic repair kit, but neither has been made available for sale, despite Little Tikes claiming that they would look into it. I do not want to buy an entire new set just because of this issue. It would be helpful if they sold a plastic repair kit.

We bought this playset when my 9yr old was one and now after 2 more kids (7yr and 2yr olds), it is still going strong and is played with constantly by all three. The set up took about 4 hours for my husband and myself without much difficulty. We moved a couple of years ago and the movers just picked up the whole thing and stuck it in the truck without taking it apart (except for the roof having to come off). I have just two complaints about the set. I use the sandbox area for toy storage and water collects here and just under the rope ladder section - the plug is useless for drainage. My husband drilled some holes in these areas which seemed to help but water still collects and has to be bailed out from time to time. My BIGGEST complaint is the rope ladder. After only 3 years, one of the wooden rungs broke. I contacted Little Tikes for a replacement and found that it cost quite a lot of $$$ to replace. We decided just to remove the ladder instead of paying the money at the time. Now that I have a 2 year old again, I decided that it would be fun for him to climb the rope ladder as he can't use the steep plastic ladder on the backside of the fort. It's over [$] [...]! That's ridiculous! I went ahead and ordered it even though I feel it's a rip off. It's the only thing we've had to replace for the set in all the years we've had it so I guess I should just stop complaining :) Looking back, this is one of the best purchases that we ever made for the kids!

I have this play system in my backyard and it's used by the children in my child care. It still looks great after nine years of use and being in the weather elements of Minnesota year round. I would recommend this product to anyone!

We bought this swingset for our 5 1/2 year old and our 2 1/2 year old, and the kids absolutely ADORE it. It was relatively easy to assemble, sturdy and beautiful. Only a few gripes kept me from giving it that last star....first, some parts of the set simply were not designed with rain in mind. The plastic ends of the glider have filled up with water, so it sloshes when it swings...which isn't really a problem, but is certainly a design flaw. The water table/toy storage area under the cargo net is utterly useless. The plug sits higher than the rest of the basin, so it fills with water when it rains and never properly drains. I had my father-in-law drill extra holes in it for drainage (having given up all hope of using it for water play), and it STILL manages to collect a puddle of stagnant water whenever the weather gets wet.

My only other gripe with this set is that the cover for the sandbox is heavy and awkward, with no handholds, and it is difficult to maneuver it over the box through the child-sized openings under the playhouse. We actually installed handles onto ours (the kind you use for cabinets)--I don't see how we could possibly have used the lid without them.

That said...I love that there IS a sandbox and that it has a lid (I refuse to have a sandbox in my backyard that doesn't--the thought of the neighborhood csts using it skeeves me out), the cargo net, clubhouse, and slide are fantastic, and the swings...well, they're swings. They swing. The kids enjoy them. :-) The scale of this set is really ideal, too--it's low enough that my 2 1/2 year old can get herself into it without help (and daring 5 year old boys don't get hurt when they decide to jump out of the playhouse instead of using the slide...oy), but still big enough that our 8- and 9-year-old friends and relatives enjoy playing on it. I would definitely recommend this and other little tykes sets, despite the little flaws--it's a good-looking, quality product, and the kids love it.

We bought this for our 2 year-old granddaughter and her newborn brother to play on when they visit. Obviously, the newborn will not be ready to utilize it anytime soon but the two-year old loves it! She manages the rope ladder with some difficulty but is mastering it quickly. We need to buy an enclosed swing for it as she isn't ready for the flat seat yet. She spends hours on it so we consider it money well-spent!
Assembly took about 2 hours but that was 3 grown men working together! No drill was required - everything was present and assembly went smoothly. (Grampa is a very good DIY and one of our sons is a construction engineer - I think that helped tremendously!)

We purchased this playset about 5 years ago and my boys at the time were 4& 5. They are now 9 & 10 and still play on it. We added a daughter to our family and she is now 5 and now she absolutely loves it. Still looks new. Hardly any fading of the color. Was a chore for my husband and I to put together. Took a couple of days but it was worth it!

My son is 2 and he loves this playset. He can climb the rope ladder but the sandbox cover and platform move a little when pressure is applied. Overall we are really happy with the swingset and spend hours playing on it.
