I bought this for my 2-yr-old granddaughter and it was the perfect height for her. She immediately began to draw and scribble. I bought a paper pad, washable markers and paints. She loved putting them in her tray. This was not hard to put together at all. I compared this with the Step 2 brand and am completely satisfied with my choice.

Overall the double easel would get an A+ except for the chalkboard. The easel itself is steady and durable with easy assembly. However, the surface of the "chalkboard" does not clean easily with the eraser provided. Dust collects on the board itself,in the tray underneath the board and of coarse on little hands. I know that there are other surfaces that are smoother and would work with chalk better.

We purchased this for my two year-old's birthday. We set it up in the kitchen so we could "supervise" the chalk and crayon/marker usage. It is so versatile that my kindergarten twins began using it to practice their letters and numbers, and my 7 year-old likes to practice his "artwork" and handwriting. Several young children can use this product at the same time, so it's great for families with children who are close in age. Another great thing about it is that the trays are removable for easy clean up. The entire easel is made of plastic which is also easy to wipe down with a damp cloth or baby wipe. In fact, my kids like to clean it when it starts to get too messy from their play. This product was less expensive than the competitor's wood easel, so I was unsure of how sturdy it would be. It has held up in a house full of four rowdy little boys, so I would HIGHLY recommend it! Another bonus is that the plastic legs do not scratch the floor!

This was a gift for my 2 year old for her birthday. I was able to put it together myself in about 1/2 hour and she loves it! I thought the chalkboard would not work well because it's plastic, but I was wrong, it's great ! The tray lifts out and can be washed in the sink with soap and water. The only thing I would recomment would be that the clip for the paper be a little wider to hold the paper in place better. It tends to wiggle a bit. My daughter doesn't mind, but I have noticed. My daughter will enjoy this for a long time!
Durable...chalkboard hard to clean

My 2 1/2 year old loves the chalkboard, although as I mentioned, the surface is hard to clean. I use baby wipes (2 or 3 get the job done)as the eraser doesn't get the chalk off at all, it just moves it around to a big smear across the surface

I bought the Double Easel for my grandchildren, aged 2 and 4, for Christmas. It is sturdy and just the right height for both children. The two trays hold all their art supplies. The 3 pack of easel paper is also a great buy and will last for quite a while. They will both have years of open-ended art experiences both indoors and outdoors.
Very poor assembly instructions.

Nice height for toddlers but cumbersome sor storage purposes. Chalk board does not clean well and assembly instructions were impossible to follow.
