My son LOVES his car. My friend's daughter has one and every time we go to her house the first thing my son does is run to the car. So we decided to get him one for Christmas. I never in a million years thought it would've been so hard to put together. My husband and father-in-law spent over an hour trying to assemble. The roof did not have the holes it needed to lock the back braces into place. They had to to make them. The whole time my son was trying to get in it and was very upset. Thinking it was just our car, I called my friend and they had the same issue with their car last Christmas.....long assembly time and had to make holes where they should've been. Based on that I would've given 2 stars BUT after it was all put together and my son was able to play with it, it made it worth all the trouble. Be prepared to take some time putting together- it isn't as easy as the instructions and instruction video make it out to be. Overall it is a great toy and has provided hours of fun already!

Nightmare assembly

My husband & I purchased this item for our 22 month old grandson as an early b-day gift. Our daughter can't get him out of the neighbor's little car. We figured we give it to him now while it's not bitter cold out yet to play outside. His birthday is 12/30. Had we known what assembly was like, we would NOT have made the purchase. I have put together more toys over the years than I care to recall, but I have NEVER encountered a toy that was this much of a nightmare assembly. The instructions were worthless. Steps 5 & 6 were out of sequence, most of the pictures were unclear as to what exactly you were supposed to do, there was a misprint in identifying a part in step 4, most of the pieces did fit properly & had to be forced - especially the front pillar posts for the roof. The rear axle had to filed on the one end as it was too large & would not go trough ANY of the wheels. These are just SOME of the problems we had. It took over 4 hours & I am very adept at putting things together & fixing machines. We had to take the front wheels apart 3 times to get them right. Still not sure They are right, they don't seem to roll smoothly. Hopefully, they'll do better outside. By the time we got it together, the little guy was in bed!! Then I start reading reviews on line & see something about a video?? There is NOTHING in the directions about a video on line if you need futher help. I have never been so frustrated with a product in all my years. For all this work, it had better last!

    This was the most perfect gift for our 18 month old grandson. Having already purchased this 10 years ago for another grandchild & knowing how he & his brother adored it, I knew the same experience would be replicated & I was not wrong. Our granson wakes up each morning calling for his "car." He can't wait to get outside & living in CA affords him the weather to do so! I recommend this gift highly.

    You should have seen my teen son, husband and I trying to install the front,right pillar. We finally had to use a blow dryer to soften the plastic and slather it with dish soap to get it in.

    Whew! I'm glad my 3 yr old loves it so much.

          I don't usually write reviews but we bought our daughter the cozy couple for christmas despite the reviews on horrific assembly. I had to comment and say it is not that bad...takes a little while (took us about 40 min with the wagon) and moves quickly with 2 people. Make sure you have the tools they list and you're good to go

            My son Josh got the Cozy Coupe as a first birthday gift from his grandparents. I assembled the car, with one hiccup at the stage where the front pillars are inserted - found them to be quite firm to locate in position, but remedied this by using a smear of olive oil on one sheet of paper towel to lubricate the hook-in parts at the base of each pillar. Assembled in under 30 minutes, I am very impressed with the solid construction of this car! He obviously has not used it for long, as I assembled it today, but the look on his face as we (my wife, other sons and I) push him around says it all - he loves it. I can find no fault with this toy as yet, maybe the instructions could suggest a mild lubricant on the front pillars? Some reviews I have read condemn the Cozy Coupe and say they would tell people to steer clear of it because they had difficulty with assembly. I personally found that if you follow the instructions and take some initiative (ie, lubricate difficult joints) you will have no trouble.

            The instructions lead you to believe that this product assembles in a matter of minutes. It can't be... The front pillars are an absolute nightmare to attach. As for the screws, there are no guide holes, only "general areas" where the screws should be screwed-in. The product is good, but it is obvious that the product engineers did not try to assemble it themselves, prior to putting it into mass-production. Avoid assembly at all costs. If your local store offers it, pay the cost to have this pre-assembled.

            Also our product did not come with a horn for the steering wheel.

            Aside from that, our daughter loves this toy. Hopefully one day, she'll appreciate the headache of assembling his toy.

                    The cozy coupe was a gift for our two year old. The box said 1.5-5 years, and I find it hard to believe a five year old could fit inside much less drive the car. My two year old and I were also disappointed to find that the steering wheel doesn't actually steer the car, and he has trouble making it go on his own because he is almost too big for the car. Looks cute on the box, disappointing after it's opened.

                    Purchased for 2 year old twins. There is no way they will use this coupe past 3 years old; the leg opening is simply too small and the front wheels are too close together-my kids keep getting their legs caught under or around the wheels. The kids do like it as I'm sure it's quite fun to pretend to drive a car. Too bad the steering wheel doesn't actually move the wheels.

                      I have a cozy coupe since I was 2. Now I'm 16 and I still have it even if I can't play any more. I was playing with my friends and we all loved it. I remember that I was so sad when I couldn't sit in the car any more and I was trying to sit on the top. The whole thing was very funny. Cozy Coupe was my favourite toy ever and I would recomend it to everyone because it is good for all kids.
