I bought this turtle sandbox for my 4 year old niece after owning one of my own for my two (now) teenagers. My original one is over 10 years old and still draws a crowd of preschoolers at any family event. I wanted the "classic" because as neat as the new one with the water feature is, dryness was a paramount requirement. My brother and his wife wanted a dry area in their yard if a rain storm blew through and left the rest of the yard muddy. Well, less than a week after putting it in the yard, 5 inches of rain fell in one night with wind and hail. The turtle lid stayed on, and the sand stayed dry. Success!!!

We purchased the Turtle Sandbox for our children when they were tots and now they are parents with their own tots. We remembered the hours and hours of fun that were had in that sandbox and look forward to watching our grandchildren building their own memories.

This was not as well made as the other three I have. It is flimsy and much more expensive than the others. I have the step 2 frog and two turtles. One Turtle had to be replaced because a truck ran over it in my court yard. The other due to this past winter, it has a small slice in the bottom.
I have no small children. I raise geese and the turtle pool/sandboxes are perfect for the young ones to swim in. The molded plastic on the older ones is really sturdy. Even after the truck ran over the one, it is still in good shape even though it can't hold water.
When I received the new one it was warped. This would not have happened with the older models. I am hoping you will go back to your original standards on these pool/sandboxes. Your company has been around for a long time with wonderful products. And a plus is that your products are made in the USA! When my children were little we always purchased items made by your company. I would like to be able to do that again for my grandchildren.

We bought this for our 2 yr old little girl's birthday and she loves it. When we get home, that's the first thing she wants to do is play in her turtle.

I purchased this as a winter birthday gift for our 2yr old, so it hasn't been outside yet. I'm afraid it wont hold up to the elements--fading, cracking, etc. It is very thin, flimsy, and much smaller than the one my sister had for her kids just 10yrs+/- ago. [...]

This sturdy green turtle has been in our backyard for two years now, and has come through snow, sleet, rain and ice without cracking or failing. It holds 2-3 bags of playsand, and is large enough for 1 child sitting in the sand, or 2 kids if they do not sit inside (which my older son prefers). The top will fly off in any wind if not secured (two bungee cords easily do the trick for me). The top is light enough that my 3 year old could open and close the sandbox on his own. The downside of that is that the top will "dent" if your kids stand on it - but it is easily "popped" back into shape (and despite two years of such rough play, it is still in good condition!).

My 3-year-old son loves this sandbox! He can spend hours in it, playing with his sand toys. I like the cute design and the lid fits easily over the top to keep the sand dry. We live in a very windy area and the lid hasn't blown off yet. I also like that there aren't any sharp corners for my son to injure himself on. It's not a large sandbox, but in our case, it's the perfect size for our patio. I highly recommend it!
