how to put the net on

Great toy...my boys love it. To put the net on you have to thread the longer loops of the net up through the holes in the rim and then pull the loop over...Read complete review

Great toy...my boys love it. To put the net on you have to thread the longer loops of the net up through the holes in the rim and then pull the loop over the front of the plastic hook-thing that is in front of the hole. Hope that makes sense...and hope it helps. I was frustrated too at first and thought I was missing some pieces but my net stays on perfectly! =)

Everything is fine except the net will not stay on the rim. Upon examining it, it seems the rim is of poor design. The "hooks" that are supposed to hold the net on don't. After my five year old makes about 5 or 6 baskets the loops start to come off. I'm very disapointed in this product. Another thing, I've read reviews on other websites, and guess what, that ALL mention the same thing...the net.

    My grandson has had the Totsports Basketball set since he was 15 months old but seemed not to be a challenge for him. I chose to get the adjustable that would grow with him and he absolutely loves it. He is 22 months old and first time he saw it said "high" but ripped his first shot!

          I purchased this for my 8 yr old, he enjoys playing basketball with me and until he gets a little taller, I figured it would be best to get one that can be adjusted as he grows versus attaching a hoop to our deck. It took about 15 minutes to put together, would have been done faster, if it weren't for having to fish the adjusting lock out of the base part. Only real complaint is they should mention needing a 50lb bag of sand in the description AND offer it as an item to purchase....but that was an easy fix for less than $4 at [@]!

            While easy to setup and it is fun to use. If you slam the ball and make the so called Slam dunk on the rim as this product is named the Slam dunk breakaway rim, the rim loses it ability to stay flush with the back base after just 10 times the rim was hit hard for the slam.. This renders the toy useless since the rim is now wont stay up. It should have a better groove fitting that is not simple plastic. A metal bracket or insert would make it more durable. The pole insert that needs replacement isn't even available as a replacement part. Buyers beware.

            Bottom Line No, I would not recommend this to a friend

                    We bought this for our 2 year old and 4 year old sons. It's a little high for our youngest, but it's great for teaching them to throw the ball, and they love playing with it. It was quick and easy to assemble. The only challenge was getting sand into the small opening to weigh down the base. Recommend buying the set of four extra basket balls to go with it as it comes with only one ball.
